OMG!! 2 years to finally go to DOC DAY. It was a long long way with all this pandemic shit. We remember every time Kevin wrote us to say “hey, the doc day it will take place but a bit later than we thought, are you still on board guys?”. After the horrible last months, DOC DAY arrived and it felt like a relief, like a resurrection maneuver. All the people, the vibe, the energy, we fully recharged ourselves!!. DOC DAY is a wedding photography conference but more documentary style oriented. We even needed to change our whole talk, considering everyone there knew already who to document properly.
The conferences day came and we were specially nervous. Even when we´ve made it a few good times, still getting nervous, specially because we spoke in English. The place was really nice and warm, it felt really cozy, is like to be in a bar, because actually is a bar. We feel safer when we are in pubs, hahaha, also is easier to grab a drink anytime you need. All the speakers in this wedding photography conference were amazing, so this make us even more nervous like “damn we should change that, they have already said it!!”. Btw you can check more of our experiences here.
Don`t ask why I was dressing myself up in the backstage…
At the end we made it, people really liked it. It was amazing to get all the feedback and love from the colleagues. We really needed this energy back in our bodies so it felt like a huge massive hug. After Jay closed the day with all his energy we went back to the hotel to have a proper shower after all the stress and get ready to grab some food and go to party right after. We started with shy manners but after a couple of drinks and some nice live music the temperature was rising and the rest is history, wedding documentary photography history!!. PS: thanks to all the brave people who grabbed me after my spontaneus jump, unnecessarily putting their lives at risk. I got a letter from Human Rights and Greenpeace asking me WHY.
DISCLAIMER: ALL ANALOG PHOTOS WERE TAKING WITH A SHITTY HALF BROKEN POINT AND SHOOT.
